Patriot TM Lantanas are an excellent choice for vibrant summer color and butterfly gardening. They are very heat tolerant. They need regular irrgation, but allow to dry out between waterings. 'Passion' is a mounding form (3.5'x3.5'); blooms are hot raspberry pink with pink-lavender edging. Frost tender.

Highlighting this perennial are spreading mats of fern-like rosettes, along with deeply divided leaves of a green or grey green color. In this form, the flowers are usually a white tone. Stems can reach 2-3ft above foliage. The yarrow propagates easily from rooted cuttings or division, which should be performed in the early spring or fall. Following bloom, one should dead head the plant and divide the clumps when it appears crowded.

This mounding shrub will reach about 3' high and has large, dark green leaves with small blue and purple flowers that bloom in spring and summer.

Compact Myrtle

Botanical name:Myrtus communis 'Compacta'

This evergreen shrub is 6' high x 5' wide with aromatic leaves. It blooms with white sweet-scented flowers followed by bluish/black berries. It can be grown in sun or partial shade; well drained soil is essential. 'Compacta' has smaller leaves and is often used for edges and low formal hedges.

Petite Pink Oleander

Botanical name:Nerium oleander 'Petite Pink'

Oleander is an evergreen shrub with moderate to fast growth. Leaves are narrow, 4-12 in. long, dark green, leathery, and glossy, attractive in all seasons. Flowers are in clusters on branch ends; blooms from late spring through fall. Warning: Poisonous 'Petite Pink' grows 3-6' high and wide with pink blooms.

Shiny Xylosma

Botanical name:Xylosma congestum

This medium-sized, mounding evergreen shrub with lustrous yellow-green foliage produces new growth that is tinted rosy-red. It has a growth habit that is loose, graceful and spreading.

Chinese Wisteria

Botanical name:Wisteria sinensis

While the sinensis is similar to the floribunda, it bears more rounded, full clusters of strongly fragrant flowers which open more or less all at once. There are usually 13-15 leaflets per leaf, and they require full sun and average to little watering. It comes in many colors in the blues, whites and purples.-Monterey Bay Nursery
