White Flower Chinese Wisteria

Common name:White Flower Chinese Wisteria
Botanical name:Wisteria sinensis 'Alba'

While the sinensis is similar to the floribunda, it bears more rounded, full clusters of strongly fragrant flowers which open more or less all at once. There are usually 13-15 leaflets per leaf, and they require full sun and average to little watering. This is a white flower variety.-Monterey Bay Nursery

Botanical name:Magnolia grandiflora

It's large, simple leathery appearance makes the pyramidal Magnolia grandiflora perfect for either a street or lawn tree. Its leaves are 4-8" long, and its powerfully fragrant blooms are carried throughout the summer and fall. If these plants are grafted, they are more predictable (may take 15 years to bloom). Ungrafted trees will take only 2-3 years. Restricted root areas or heavy soils will slow the growth process. In zones 4 and 5, the tree needs a warm wall or a pocket

This evergreen shrub is part of the agave family and reaches 6-10' tall. It has distinctive blue-gray leaves that bend sharply downward. It blooms with white flowers on 3-5' tall spikes in late spring and early summer. Leaf tips have spines but they bend and do not cause injury.

Soils and Compost:

Practice grass-cycling by leaving short grass clippings on lawns after mowing, so that nutrients and organic matter are returned to the soil.

Water Saving Tip:

Apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch in planting beds to conserve water, suppress weeds, and protect the soil from compaction and erosion.

Integrated Pest Management:

Remove irrigation water and fertilizer from areas where you don't want weeds to grow.
